Rysdale is the ideal base from which to explore both Ambleside and the surrounding area. Many of our rooms overlook the most attractive park which has crazy golf, pitch and putt, tennis courts and a bowling green. Easy strolls take you to Stock Ghyll Waterfalls and then onwards and upwards over Wansfell Pike to Troutbeck. Rothay Park and the River Rothay are on our doorstep before ascending Todd Crag for breath-taking views of Lake Windermere. A ten minute stroll from Rysdale takes you to the Lake itself to sit and watch the   boats or take a cruise. For the more adventurous, Red Screes and the Fairfield Horseshoe can all be walked from Rysdale. Ambleside itself is ideally situated for easy access to all the parts of the Lake District including picturesque villages, the lakes themselves and the spectacular mountain scenery, all steeped in history alongside the requirements for today’s modern living.
