Lake District Attractions and Walking Short Breaks.
Rysdale Accommodation is the ideal holiday base from which to explore both Ambleside
and the surrounding area. Many of our rooms overlook the most
attractive park which has crazy golf, pitch and putt, tennis
courts and a bowling green. An easy strolls will take you to Stock
Ghyll Waterfalls and then onwards and upwards over Wansfell
Pike to Troutbeck, and the River Rothay are on our doorstep
before ascending Todd Crag for breath-taking views of Lake
Windermere these are fantastic for walking holiday. A
ten minute stroll from Rysdale takes you to the Lake itself you can
sit and watch the boats or take a cruise on a boat trip. For a more adventurous holiday, Red Screes
and the Fairfield Horseshoe are all in walking distance from Rysdale.

Ambleside
itself is ideally situated for easy access to all the parts
of the Lake District including picturesque villages, the lakes
themselves and the spectacular mountain scenery, all steeped
in history alongside the requirements for today’s modern
living.
If its peace and tranquillity your looking for, Or outdoor activities including walking,
cycling and water sports on Windermere. Then ambleside not to be missed there is something for everyone.
One of the most famous features in Ambleside is the Bridge House, featured, which can be seen above is a tiny
building spanning the Stock Beck. Folklore has it that it was erected by the owner as a method of Land Tax avoidance.
It is unknown if the story is true however it remains as on of the iconic buildings of the Lake district and a must see. |
